Sat Chakra de Noël

My yoga school has monthly Sat Chakras, little evening gatherings at which we do some vocal exercises and watch performances by one of the advanced students followed by a professor. The performances are really amazing. In SwáSthya yoga, or at least the method practiced at my school, there is a strong emphasis on choreography. Basically, in addition to having to have incredible core strength, balance, and flexibility, you also have to be smooth about it, so this photo certainly isn't me! Though normally we exchange a flower and a fruit at a Sat Chakra, this time we did more of a holiday-themed gift exchange which made the evening extra fun. I swapped in a box of chocolates for a set of candles, a fair trade as far as I was concerned. It was also funny to realize that the large majority of people practicing yoga at the school, or at least those spirited enough to attend a Sat Chakra, are foreigners from all over the world. It was nice to be in good company though it proved once more that the French are really an elusive bunch, and so my quest to make some real French friends continues (with some positive initial results, pleasantly enough).
